Notice of Motion - Children At Risk - Hunter New England Region

321 - CHILDREN AT RISK - HUNTER NEW ENGLAND REGION

That this House:

  1. Notes child protection data from January to December 2018 revealed that 14,596 children in the Hunter New England region were deemed as being at risk of significant harm.

  2. Acknowledges the Hunter New England region had the highest number of children at risk of significant harm.

  3. Notes only 20 percent of these children were assessed face-to-face.

  4. Calls on the Government to prioritise keeping vulnerable children safe in New South Wales.
