ST PATRICKS PRIMARY SCHOOL LOCHINVAR

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)— Recently I was thrilled to welcome Kaitlin Babaran, Scarlett Whybrow and Ivy Chavez, Year 6 students from St. Patricks Primary School Lochinvar, and their families and teachers to Parliament House. Each year the Moving Forward Together Association holds a Harmony Day song and poster competition. The girls took it upon themselves to enter the competition with the help of their teacher Michelle Harvey. They were announced as the Northern NSW Regional winners of the primary school division for their poster "We are One - Living in Harmony" from over 4000 entries received. Thanks to Minister Steve Kamper for hosting the award ceremony which recognised very talented school students from across the country as they share their vision and dreams for an inclusive society in poster or song format. Congratulations also go to Shia Coates from St Paul's Primary School, Rutherford who was highly commended in the primary school poster competition. Ruby Levitt, a 13-year-old past winner spoke to the importance of the competition "Art has the remarkable ability to communicate across languages, cultures and backgrounds...in a world where division often prevails, art can serve as a universal language that unites us all."
