ST JOHN'S AMBULANCE MAITLAND DIVISION

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—I wish to acknowledge the volunteers at St John's Ambulance Maitland Division for their compassion and assistance to those in our community who need help. The Division has 21 adult members and 12 Cadets, and have collectively contributed more than 2325 volunteer hours in the field over the last year, not including the countless hours of administration required to keep the division running. Maitland holds so many fabulous events requiring the assistance of the St John's team. Some prominent events they have assisted with this year include Aroma Fest, Steam Fest and the Riverlights Multicultural Festival. In addition, they provide training for community groups to help them be better prepared for an emergency. Members Giverny Chomiszak and Ted Richards recently spent 4 days providing onsite First Aid to the RFS at Mudgee for a Section 44 fire deployment. The Division volunteers work together to help others and have a positive impact in the community and along the way they have become a tight knit crew. My most heartfelt thanks to the St John's Ambulance Maitland Division for their contribution to the community of Maitland.
