Montana Duggan

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Roads, and Minister for Regional Transport)—Congratulations to 2025 Maitland Local Woman of the Year finalist Montana Duggan. Montana's dedication to our community, particularly through Friends of Palliative Care Inc., is truly inspiring. For nearly a decade, Montana has volunteered with this invaluable organisation, serving as president for the last four years. Despite working full-time in the healthcare sector, she devotes countless hours to ensuring Friends of Palliative Care provides essential support to patients and families. Under her leadership, the organisation supplies hospital-style equipment, covers pharmacy expenses, and fulfils final wishes through its "bucket list requests." It also funds continuing education for local palliative care workers, strengthening the quality of care in our community. Montana's motivation is deeply personal. Having benefited from Friends of Palliative Care's services when her father passed away 14 years ago, she now gives back with unwavering dedication. She also credits the 23 amazing volunteers who help keep the organisation 100% volunteer-run and not-for-profit. Montana Duggan exemplifies community service, and I congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition. Our community is richer for Montana's compassion and commitment. Thank you, Montana.
