Louise Lane

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—Making the world a better place deserves an award. Louise Lane has recently received the Australian Corrections Medal in the King's Birthday Honours for her excellent work in Maitland. Louise has worked as the Maitland Community Corrections Manager for over 30 years, a role which she believes she has been incredibly blessed to hold. This role is one where you can make a real difference. Louise's work involves working with people who have community court orders or who are doing community service work, with the goal of behavioural change. Thanks to Louise's leadership and hands-on approach, the Maitland office can hold a large number of offender management programs each year, which directly improve outcomes. Programs include the Aboriginal men's mentoring group, and a program that assists women on orders in finding employment. Louise is one of eight Corrective Services NSW staff who were acknowledged this year in the King's Birthday Honours List. Leon Taylor, NSW Acting Commissioner acknowledges recipients of these awards have worked hard to protect their community. Congratulations Louise on this extraordinary recognition.
