KENDALL HARRISON

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—I wish to acknowledge Lochinvar's Kendall Harrison who has spent her life volunteering and contributing to the betterment of the Maitland community. Kendall has worked with many organisations including Friends of the Earth, on various recycling projects, facilitated tree plantings, and fundraising for Westpac Care Flight. Kendall is currently the Seed Library coordinator for Slow Foods Hunter Valley, this Seed Library program sees seeds borrowed, planted and enjoyed. Borrowers are asked to leave a portion of the crop to go to seed, harvest and dry the seeds, returning them to the Seed Library for others to borrow and to grow. Kendall's involvement also includes facilitating workshops at the regular Maitland Taste Festival for children to gain a love for gardening and the skills to garden. Kendall demonstrates values of sustainability, community, and generosity. Kendall's contribution is worthy of recognition as a valued member of the Maitland Community.
