Food is Life Woodberry Family Centre
Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Roads, and Minister for Regional Transport)—Congratulations to the Food is Life program which is currently running at the Woodberry Family Centre—a vital initiative providing free food and fostering community connection in our region. Every Tuesday from 12:30 to 2:30 pm, the Centre opens its doors to offer nutritious meals to those in need, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry. This program not only addresses food insecurity but also creates a welcoming space where residents can connect and support one another. The success of Food is Life is a testament to the dedication of the Maitland Family Support Scheme and its volunteers, including Amorelle Dempster, Lucile Bourquin, Rebecca McGregor and Patience Mutekwa who work tirelessly to uplift our community. Their efforts exemplify the spirit of compassion and resilience that defines Maitland. This program is a living example of a great collaborative effort with contributions from Rotary Sunrise, Slow Food Hunter Valley, Maitland Council and a swathe of volunteers. I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the Food is Life program. Your commitment to serving others embodies the very best of our community values.
