Dr Terri Peters

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Roads, and Minister for Regional Transport)—I would like to commend Dr Terri Peters for her 35 years of service to the East Maitland community. Dr Peters achieved her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Sydney in 1977. She subsequently practiced at the Royal Newcastle Hospital for three years before moving overseas to Malaysia for two years. On returning to Australia she joined the George Street Family Medical Clinic with her husband Dr Robert Peters, taking over the practice in 1984. For thirty six years she has engaged in all aspects of general medicine with her particular interests of mental health care, men's health and preventative medicine. Dr Peters has steadfastly cared for the East Maitland community until her recent retirement at the end of 2024. Dr Peters is a highly skilled physician who will be sorely missed by the community. We wish her well in her retirement from general practice.
