Community Recognition Notice - Welcome to the 2021-22 Volunteers for Palliative Care Inc. Board

24 November 2021

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland)—Volunteers for Palliative Care Inc. embrace Palliative Care Australia's philosophy to "maximise quality of life and assist families and carers". Providing non-clinical palliative care support services that provide respite at no cost for palliative care patients, carers and their families living in the Maitland local government area. The Volunteers for Palliative Care Inc. volunteers represent a cross-section of my local Maitland community many of whom have experienced the journey of grief and loss and want to give back to their community through care and compassion. I would like to recognise, welcome and congratulate the new 2021-2022 Volunteers for Palliative Care Inc. volunteer based board members Lynette Clark, Ross Iles, Beth Fowler, Belinda Campbell, Kathryn Bennett, Andrew Rennie, Kate McLaughlin, Glenda Briggs and Sophie Bela. When I spoke with Judith Robinson, Co-ordinator of Volunteers for Palliative Care Inc. she said she is looking forward to the focus of the next twelve months with the new board members and organisation's volunteers, as they refocus their attention on delivering a Community Hospice for Maitland, following what has been an unsettling last couple of years with COVID.
