Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland)—Maitland was proud to host the Under 18's girl's NSWJRU State Championships rugby event which saw Sydney University come out victorious defeating Randwick 28-15, congratulations to all players on their efforts and congratulations to the winning team. It was a pleasure to see Maitland's Marcellin Park sports ground being used to host the event. The Marcellin Park Sports Ground Maitland is home to the much-loved Maitland Rugby Club- the "Maitland Blacks". The Maitland Rugby Club, Australia's second oldest rugby club and over the years has seen grand final wins for the club and many first games for Maitland's youth. The ground has received a number of grants over the years, for which I have been very pleased to recommend them, including to upgrade their power and transformers, and lighting towers. They recently received a Federal Government Community Sport Infrastructure Grant for netball courts, a multipurpose centre and indoor swimming pool. I want to thank the Maitland Rugby Club and Todd Sheldon Committee Member of Maitland Junior Rugby Club for giving me such a warm welcome as well as the honour of presenting the Under 18's girl's NSWJRU States Championship medals on the day. Well done ladies!
