Community Recognition Notice - UAINE Candles Finalist

16 February 2022

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland)—I congratulate Andrew Mason and his team at UAINE Candles who have been announced as finalists in the 27th Hunter Region Business Excellence Awards. In the words of the team themselves: The Gaelic name UAINE ('oonyah') means green and verdant reflecting their Hunter Valley heritage and their commitment to the environment and our community. UAINE Candles' manufacturing facility is situated in Morpeth overlooking the Hunter River. They are very close to the site of Morpeth's original candle factory which was established in the 1850's. Their products are proudly promoted as natural, fresh and vegan‑friendly using 100 percent soy wax. This demonstrates a thoughtfulness towards their customers. They are a valued member of the Morpeth township. The Hunter Region Business Excellence Awards are one of our region's longest-running awards and have built a reputation as the Hunter's premier business excellence awards. I wish Andrew and his team the very best of luck as a finalist in these awards, and I encourage them to continue to move their vision forward in 2022.
