Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland)—East Maitland Rotary describes itself as an active, service group undertaking community projects and fund raising to make a difference locally and globally. I can attest to the veracity of this statement. Our Rotary Club have remained an important and intrinsic part of the Maitland community for many decades providing not only support and service, but also opportunities for members to develop as individuals, to build expansive social connections and to become change makers. Today I congratulate the Rotary Club of East Maitland on their success in being awarded two grants within the 2021 Community Building Partnership Program. The first grant of $62,000 will support the purchase of a new, compliant and efficient catering trailer to enable the Club to service the local community needs and demands. The second grant will fund the renewal and maintenance of the Cinders Track shared public walkway by creating a community mural on part of the noise-wall and removing graffiti along entire length of the structure. I congratulate the Rotary Club of East Maitland on attaining these two grants that also serve as recognition of the significant ongoing contributions that the Club makes to the broader Maitland community.
