Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland)—The multi-layered history of Maitland and its rich diversity will be celebrated in the upcoming Maitland Heritage Fest 2022. This festival is a two day community event, held the18th -19th June 2022 in the Church Street Precinct, Maitland, and other venues around the City. Careful planning will ensure that all attending will find many things to enjoy from heritage walks and house tours, to food stalls, displays, entertainers, and demonstrations. The festival explore and celebrate Maitland's history covering many thousands of years. The local First Peoples communities, the work of the Cedar Getters, land grants and the settlers will all be explored, as well as how they have all contributed to the development of our contemporary Maitland. I encourage the organisers and contributors to continue their good works towards the delivery of yet another fantastic Heritage Festival in 2022, and I strongly encourage the people of Maitland to take advantage of these two days to uncover more about the intriguing history of our city and to connect with, and support, the many groups and organisations that will form part of the fun.
