Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland)—Anne-Louise O'Conner's commitment to supporting access to learning and education is central to her nomination within the Local Woman of The Year Award. Anne-Louise has been a member of Voice, Interests & Education of Women (VIEW) Clubs of Australia for 21 years. Anne‑Louise was elected and served as the National President for VIEW Clubs of Australia in 2020-21. Previously Anne-Louise had spent thirty years as a Media Manager for an advertising agency before retiring in 2017. Since moving to the Hunter in 2015 Anne-Louise has focused on strengthening and developing VIEW clubs in the Hunter, promoting VIEW, The Smith Family and the Learning for Life program that supports disadvantaged Australian children with their education. Seeing these children as our future, Anne-Louise is passionate about giving them every opportunity to achieve their dreams and aspirations and help break the cycle of disadvantage. I thank Anne-Louise for her many years of commitment and consistent effort, and I am certain our community joins me in those sentiments.
