Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland)—Angie Usher has a strong belief that music is beneficial for mental health and she has spent a lot of time working on making her studio somewhere that people of all ages and abilities can access. Angie grew up in the Maitland area. She has stated that she has dedicated her adult life to learning as much as she can about how her passion and how music can help almost everyone. Angie is currently president of Maitland Musical Society as well as a Musical Theatre tutor at Maitland Repertory on top of her everyday job. Angie balances roles a mum, musician and performing arts teacher, as well as a volunteer for many community groups. Angie's thirst for knowledge hasn't stopped and she is currently studying for a Master of Education (Special Education) degree. Music is one of those joys that can spirit us to another place, or another moment in our lives with the first few notes and I thank Angie for sharing that gift widely throughout our community. I congratulate Angie on her efforts also being recognised with a nomination in the Local Woman of The Year Award.
