Community Recognition Notice - Alison Mutton (NSW RFS)

07 June 2022

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland)—With almost four decades of service under her belt, Alison Mutton is a worthy recipient of the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) National Medal and 1st Clasp. She began her career in 1985 with the Bolwarra-Largs Brigade and, as a member, attended bush and grass fires, structure blazes, as well as MVAs, storm and flood damage. Later on, Alison started to provide more operational assistance, firstly as a brigade callout officer for Bolwarra-Largs but also to Maitland's Deputy Fire Control officer and eventually Lower Hunter Group 2. It is in this role her experience and fire ground acumen have delivered invaluable support across both local and intrastate emergencies. When providing operational assistance to Group 2, Alison can often be seen with an iPad or paper map clutched in hand, taking down observations of fire behaviour or movement, or relaying the same information back to the incident IMT. Congratulations Alison, this honour is well-deserved.
