Brett McKenzie
Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Roads, and Minister for Regional Transport)—I would like to congratulate Brett McKenzie of Millers Forest for his outstanding achievement in the NSW WesTrac Global Challenge Heats. The Global Challenge Heats pit heavy machinery operators against each other to showcase their skills across a range of challenges. Nationally, two winning operators are chosen to compete overseas for the Global Challenge Trophy. Brett was one of 10 finalists in the state competing in challenges designed to test the skill, accuracy and agility of competitors on their equipment. Brett performed superbly in the NSW Heats, finishing first in the Compact Track Loader challenge, securing his place in the finals where he placed fifth overall. Three machines were used in the NSW Final event: a Cat 320 Medium Extractor, a Cat 972 Next Generation Medium Wheel Loader with Payload, and a Cat 255 Compact Track Loader While Brett didn't ultimately take out first place, his success to date was a tribute to his skill and work ethic. Well done Brett.
