ALEXANDRA HAGGARTY – HIGHLY COMMENDED MAITLAND LOCAL WOMAN OF THE YEAR

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—Alexander Haggarty has dedicated more than two decades to the Real Estate Industry in Maitland with 8 years as managing director and owner of First National Haggarty. Alexandra makes a point of encouraging and mentoring her staff to give back to the community, sponsoring organisations such as Carrie's Place, Maitland Rugby Club, Rams Hockey, Slow Food Market, Smith Family and Kids HelpLine. Alexandra has made a particular contribution to supporting victim survivors of Domestic Violence to source and maintain housing, partnering with Carries Place and assisting them with rehoming over 100 Maitland families leaving violence since 2010. She now works with DVNSW working with agents and DV service providers across NSW to replicate the program. Since 2019 Alexandra has sat on the Real Estate Institute NSW Property Management Chapter and chaired the domestic violence response subcommittee to provide best practice to agents, lobby government and provide expert information to stakeholders in the areas of DV, access to housing and homelessness. In March Alexandra was recognised for her efforts with a High Commendation in the Maitland Local Woman of the Year Awards – congratulations and thank you for your hard work Alexandra!
