MEDIA RELEASE - SAFETY IMPROVEMENT WORK TO START ON CENTRAL COAST HIGHWAY AT KARIONG HILL

Motorists will soon experience safer and smoother journeys with improvement work starting on the Central Coast Highway at Kariong Hill this month.

The NSW Government is providing $2.5 million from the Safer Roads Program to upgrade a section of the Central Coast Highway between Brisbane Water Drive Interchange, Point Clare, and West Gosford Lookout at Kariong Hill.

Transport for NSW will be carrying out a range of safety improvement works upgrade from Sunday, February 18.

The work will include line marking and installation of new guard rails and vehicle activated signs which will advise motorists of the speed and traffic lights ahead.

Work will be carried out 7pm to 5am Sunday to Thursday. Some work may also be carried out from 9.30am to 2.30pm on weekdays. It is expected to be complete in six weeks, weather permitting.

A single lane closure and 40 km/h speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists during work hours. Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs.
