The search is on to find the most outstanding and influential women in NSW, with nominations open for the 2023 NSW Women of the Year Awards.

Member for Maitland, Jenny Aitchison MP said the annual awards play an important role in recognising inspirational women from diverse backgrounds not only in Maitland, but across the state.

“These awards are a wonderful opportunity to honour the women and girls who are making a real difference to our community,” Ms Aitchison said.

Nominations are open for the following six categories:

  • Woman of Excellence
  • Aboriginal Woman of the Year
  • Community Hero of the Year
  • Young Woman of the Year
  • Regional Woman of the Year
  • One to Watch

"Every day women of all ages across Maitland make immense and valuable contributions to their community and these annual awards are an opportunity to publicly acknowledge and celebrate these inspirational women," Ms Aitchison said.

“As I make my way across the electorate I am often inspired by the women I meet who go above and beyond to make a difference in their communities."

"These awards allow us to recognise those women who have excelled in their chosen field and displayed a significant level of leadership."

The winners will be announced at the NSW Women of the Year Awards ceremony on 9 March 2023 as part of NSW Women’s Week.
