Member for Maitland Jenny Aitchison today called for nominations for the 2016 Local NSW Grandparent of the Year Awards.

The Local NSW Grandparent of the Year Awards celebrates the role grandparents and older people play in our community.

Ms Aitchison said the Awards are an opportunity for younger generations to recognise the many ways that grandparents and older people enrich our lives and communities.

“Grandparents and older people do so much in to make our community a better place to live and work,” Ms Aitchison said.

“These Awards are an opportunity for us to thank them for the contribution they make across many different areas of community life.

“If you know a grandparent or older person who is making a difference in Maitland, then nominate them today.”

Nominations for the 2016 Local NSW Grandparent of the Year Awards are open until Friday, 7 October 2016.
