Media Release - My Community Project - Grants Saves Lives

16 April 2019

MY COMMUNITY PROJECT Grants between
$20,000 and $200,000 now available!
If you have a great idea to help make Maitland even better but need some assistance to make your dream a reality, the recently announced My Community Project grants program could be the answer. Applications for grants of $20,000 to $200,000 are now open for projects that benefit our local community. They will close on May 15, 2019. For your idea to be considered, you must partner with an organisation who will deliver the project. They will be known as the project sponsor, and they will receive the funding. When you and the sponsor confirm support for the project, you should complete your submission.
Ideas for a project may include:
- new playground equipment
- sports facilities for the kids
- paths or ramps to improve access
- an art installation to rejuvenate an empty space
Please note that the submission has two sections: one to be completed by the project applicant, and the second by the project sponsor. The project applicant should lodge theirs by Wednesday, May 1 to allow enough time for the project sponsor to do their bit. I know that we live in an incredible, community-minded city that is brimming with good ideas, wonderful people and great organisations. My Community Project is a way to bring all these things together.
Please don’t hesitate to contact my office on 4933 1617 or email maitland@parliament.nsw.gov.au if my office can assist in any way.
