Member for Maitland Jenny Aitchison MP, is calling on nominations for the Maitland NSW Local Woman of the year award for a 10th year.
Chosen by Members of Parliament, one from each electorate across NSW, the recipients of the NSW Local Woman of the Year award are recognised for their outstanding contribution to their local community as businesswomen, role models, volunteers, leaders and mentors.
The 2023 recipient of Maitland’s Local NSW Woman of the Year, will be the 10th Maitland woman to be included on the honour roll as receiving the prestigious award.
“The award is about recognising every day, women of all ages, professions and backgrounds across Maitland making immense and valuable contributions to our community, of which Maitland has many”, says Ms Aitchison.
“The 2022 receipt Mrs Barbara Heckman was selected for the award in honour of her service to the Maitland community. Having contributed to the community all her life, Barbara’s commitment to local community groups, sport and fundraising saw her recognised as an inspirational woman shaping our community, and still doing so to this day”, said Ms Aitchison.
“These annual awards are an opportunity to publicly acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding work that women do in shaping our community.”
All nominees for the 2023 Maitland’s NSW Local Woman of the Year award will be invited to a special event hosted by Ms Aitchison and the Woman's Network Hunter on Friday 3 March, 2023.
