Maitland PCYC is celebrating after receiving funding from the 2018 Community Building Partnership program to properly secure its carpark.
Twelve projects have received a share of the $330,000 for Maitland provided by the NSW Government.
The PCYC can now install boundary fencing, signage and access controls for the carpark with their $75,000 grant.
Other successful recipients to receive an early Christmas present this year include public schools, sporting clubs and community organisations.
Projects to be funded include;
• A Meals on Wheels kitchen upgrade with more than $26,000 for Beresfield and District Community Care;
• Creation of a multipurpose community space for all levels of mobility with a $20,000 grant for St Peter’s Anglican Church East Maitland;
• Aspect Hunter School for Kids with Autism has $20,000 for a playground safety upgrade;
• Early Links Inclusion Support Service Inc. receives $15,000 to refurbish an existing administrative office space for eight additional staff members and provide storage space and a small meeting area;
• Gillieston Public School P&C receives $6,500 towards a shelter over new play equipment; and,
• Maitland Hunting Club’s $3,500 will renew security fencing bordering a wetland.
