The NSW Seniors Festival Local Senior of the Year Awards recognise individuals who have made a significant impact in their communities through community service, healthy living, cultural and creative contributions, and lifetime achievements. Formerly known as the NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards, these awards celebrate the diverse ways seniors enrich our communities and promote positive ageing, forming a key part of the annual NSW Seniors Festival.
The NSW Seniors Festival, presented by the NSW Government, is a long-standing state-wide celebration for people aged 60+, or 50+ for Aboriginal people and people with a life-long disability. It is the largest festival of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, attracting more than 500,000 participants each year across a wide range of events that support social inclusion, connection, wellbeing, and community participation.
